Short Biography: Ángel Fernández Herrero, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

   Angel Fernández Herrero was born in León, Spain, in 1967. He received the degree in Telecommunications Engineering (ETSIT) from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) in 1994. From 1999 he is working as an
Assistant Lecturer with the Department of Electronic Engineering of the ETSIT-UPM.

   He has actively participated in a number of national and international research projects, with experience in signal processing for voice, audio, video and communications, and implementations in both processors and FPGAs. His research interests are on the fields of real-time implementation of digital signal processing systems, wireless, wideband and multi-antenna digital communications, system integration considering analog impairments and, more recently, nonlinear system identification for different applications.

 

 

 

Short Biography: Fernando Barbero, SIDSA.

   Fernando Barbero received the Telecommunication Engineer degree from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain, in 1993. From 1993 to 1998 he worked at Telefonica in the deployment of GSM and cable TV networks. Between 1996 and 2001 he also was an Associate Teacher in the Computer Science faculty of Autonoma University of Madrid. In 1998 he joined SIDSA, where currently he holds the position of System-on-Chip Technical Director, leading an ASIC design team developing semiconductor products for telecommunications, from algorithmic design to hardware implementation.

   SIDSA is a private Spanish company focused in high-technology products mainly related with the delivery of digital multimedia content, in three basic areas: IPTV and TV Broadcast systems, Conditional Access Devices and Solutions, and Semiconductors for DVB TV reception and DSL communications.
